NEWS UPDATE:  Friday, February 15 the Myron Heaton Chorale sponsored its second annual high school / college choral festival. This event presented six different choirs (including the Myron Heaton Chorale) each doing about 15-20 minutes of their own music. Earlier in the day our special guest clinician, Dr. Andrew Last - fresh from the concert tour of the Nordic Choir - from Luther College - did an hour long clinic session with each choir. The UNLV - Concert Singers under the direction of Dr. Joe Svendsen (Luther grad.) worked with Dr. Last on the UNLV campus. The Chamber Chorale from the College of Southern Nevada under the direction of Dr. Mark Wherry worked with Dr. Last on the campus of Durango H.S. as did the Durango High School girls chorus and Chamber Choir . The finale of the evening was a massed choir of all singers including the MHC Chorale in a selection directed by Dr. Last.

The program provided a chance for these singers to explore singing from different ages and styles. We want singers to keep singing their whole life long - no matter the age.

The Myron Heaton Chorale is devoted to sharing choral music with Las Vegas and Henderson residents as well as listeners across the United States and abroad. The community-wide chorus is now in its 26th season under the direction of Myron Heaton.
